When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy.’
These beautiful words by Rumi perfectly describe how I feel about my work. I have always had a passion to inspire and empower others. The meanderings and challenges of my life have given me a rich tapestry of perspective and experience.
I am a firm believer in the philosophy of ‘we’re all in this together’ as although we’re all unique, the threads that unify and unite shine brightly and, through my writing, I try to seek out our commonality, compassion and humanity.
I write from the heart and speak from the depths of my soul, illuminating the path to Self and weaving my individual style into every word. I am a writer and, over the years, I have trained as an astrologer, life coach, spiritual counsellor, shamanic practitioner, Reiki Master and meditation teacher, and I have worked with clients from around the world.
I am the resident astrologer for More to Life Magazine (and website) and my writing is also featured on the international Spirit Library website. I come from a long line of healers through the maternal line and this natural gift forms a central role in my life. Yet, I am not just a collection of labels! I have combined my own experiences with different philosophies and teachings into a unique, vibrant and slightly eclectic style.
As well as my unique soul-focused forecasts, I also write on a deeply personal level in connection to my own life experiences. I feel that being an open book is an intrinsic part of living authentically and I have found wisdom, strength and courage from my own pain which has carved out the pathway of my own personal and spiritual evolution. In the process, I have adopted a simple philosophy, letting go of many layers of belief along the way.
I have a genetic multi-systemic condition which has had a profound effect on my life, particularly as I wasn’t diagnosed with it until I was in my early forties and by then, the damage to my body had already been done. Despite being a wheelchair user, I remain as active as possible although admittedly, I’ve had to adjust my definition of ‘active’ over the years! It’s woken me up to life and helped me to appreciate the preciousness of every moment.
Although it took me many years and a great deal of struggle along the way, I now see my ill-health as my muse and I have found great inspiration from some very dark moments. Of course, I’m not going to wax lyrical about the joys of illness but it’s a big part of my life so I’ve chosen to make peace with it. My willingness to be so open about my struggles has enabled me to gracefully accept my own challenges and channel them into my core desire of inspiring others to live the best life possible.
When I stopped trying to ‘fix’ my condition and instead accepted it and learned, over time, to love it, I’ve touched a deep sense of peace I never thought possible. This is, of course, a work in progress, but with each new challenge I face, I unearth new strength, passion and courage. I continue to develop my meditation practice and teachings, and I use my own unique style of meditation to manage my own health issues whilst continuing to help and inspire others to do the same.
I live in the beautiful Surrey Hills in the English countryside, where I am often at one with nature communing with the ancient woodlands, the sacred hills and, of course, with the cosmos…
‘Thank you for being my witness…I feel so seen, so visible and yet so safe. You’ve gently and lovingly gazed into my depths and given me the confidence to do the same. I’ve found love and joy, as well as pain and hurt, but I feel so real and so alive’. SG, Scotland
‘Your willingness to be vulnerable and to share your pain has touched me deeply. To know I’m not alone has instilled a sense of hope in me, a belief that I can get through my challenges and to feel that I actually want to see another day…’ TE, Oregon
